From humble beginnings in 1984, we’ve grown into a trusted family-owned and operated business that proudly supports Aussie warehouses, workshops, and companies with smart, safe, and tailored solutions.

From Southern Shop & Office to SSO Handling & Storage

In 1986, SSO Handling & Storage was born from a simple but powerful idea—to provide more than just products, to deliver solutions that truly help businesses thrive.

It wasn’t about making quick sales or chasing profits. It was about understanding the unique challenges of every customer, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant storage solutions for workshops, warehouses, and commercial spaces.

What started as a small family-run business has grown into a trusted name across ACT and Southern NSW, but we’ve never lost sight of what’s important:

How We Got Here – A Journey of Growth & Innovation

📌 1986 – Founded as Southern Shop & Office by Syd in Queanbeyan, focusing on shopfitting and handling solutions in NSW & ACT and the Original Distributor for Dexion products.

📌 2005 – Purchased by Jenni and Managed by Bryson, Expanding further into industrial solutions and fabrication.

📌 2009-2013 Bryson and Dave purchased part of the business from Jenni, becoming partners; over time, Bryson purchased the business from Dave and Jenni as they moved on to different ventures.

📌 2010 – Changed name to SSO Handling & Storage, Relocated to new premises in Queanbeyan, growing our services in design, installation, and compliance with a large retail showroom. Sean Returned as manager and designer

📌 2010 – 2019 – increased solutions and capabilities such as safety barriers, car parking fit-outs, Van storage solutions and an increased range of products.

📌 2021–2024 – Expanded install teams, improved compliance audits, and introduced digital safety solutions (RAMS & PRMS).

📌 Today – Recognized industry leader, trusted by warehouses, government facilities, and major industries.
